American Friends of Galilee Medical Center welcomed new Board Treasurer, Alan Engel, at its October Board meeting.

In 1988, Alan began serving in Louisville, KY as the executive director of the Jewish Community Federation, where he was a key player in merging the Federation and the Jewish Community Center.

In 1988, Alan began serving in Louisville, KY as the executive director of the Jewish Community Federation, where he was a key player in merging the Federation and the Jewish Community Center. With more than 20 years of passion and professionalism under his belt, Alan retired in 2010. Alan received his Masters in Social Work from Ohio State University. He has an honorary doctorate degree from Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and in appreciation of his service to the community, the Alan S. Engel Partnership with Israel Professional Development Fund was also established.
